contact a samurai school in Japan (doubt theyd take you on), or the handful of Americans that have trained, such as master Dusty Johnson
it's basically juijitsu, weapons training ( katana, archary, etc ) , tradition ( poetry art etc )
not to discourage anyone but, modern combat styles defeat and incorporate the samurai ways, I would use more modern weapon styles like shooting, knife and stick fighting as they are more useful today.
You can't train as a Samurai it's an abolished social class. Training in Jujitsu, Kyūdō (Archery) doesn't make you a samurai you have to have been born into a Samurai family and serve a Daimyo lord to be a Samurai
The samurai seem to have been a people locked into war from their earliest beginnings. Much like any other style of fighting was made: I am very sure that after the crafting of iron and steel was discovered someone had been through enough battles to pass on his secrets of survival to his closest comrades and from there it grew into something of a great strategy.. this is why there are many styles of fighting in all forms of Martial Arts.. someone learned how to become efficient at taking life or surviving combat, and he showed someone else how to do it, and then that became the principle of the art that they practiced.. of course with all of the different styles of sword-fighting and hand to hand combat, there is no real way to say how or where these techniques where FIRST made... all I can lend to you in my knowledge is that someone lived, and taught others how to live like him.
Kenjutsu, the art of the sword was the Samurais primart teaching. some studied jujitsu and other forms of fighting. However, since the status of the samurai was herreditaty, not all were trained. For example: You didnt earn the fight to be a samurai, you were born into it. So as you might have guessed, just because you are a samurai does not mean you are a trained fighter.
Samurai mainly performed meditation for mental training. they had to master and control their body. mental training tought them to always be alert and to endure harsh conditions as well as clearing their body from evil and spiritually purifying themselves. hope this helped.
prove to the master of samurai's that you are good enough to become one
They used dummys or big dolls for training. I think They aso used robots.

Samurais are most noted for their katana use. Samurais are most skilled with the katana. Samurais also carry a backup weapon called a wakizashi. Both the katana and wakizashi are forms of a sword. Some Samurais also use a bow known as a yumi.

The Samurai Trained When They Were Only 5 But No Samurai Child Ever Trained On There Own.
They are best known for their swords, particulary the long sword caleld the Katana; many also carried a shorter swrd called the Wakizashi. A matched set of a Katana and a Wakizashi is called a Daisho.
First off the Samurais didnt make there own sword the finest blacksmiths did then handed the royal swords down to them
No: sword where used only by samurais because of the high cost.Karate was developed by peasant farmers and fishermen (believed by some to have been really developed by the idle 'rich' such as the King's bodyguards) who had to create a self defense technique that allowed them to protect themselves without using weapons.Weapons had been prohibited, and only samurais where allowed to have any.Kobudo is closely related to karate and is taught in many of the same places. They use the traditional weapons, farmer equipment that have evolved over time. Some styles of kobudo do use a short sword in the weapons list.
