Firstly, I would just like to say that I'm a creationist, and what I'm about to say reflects that:

The evolutionary scientists have not actually found the real beginning of earth, they only have theories. Where as creationists have the "truth" (Really, your question can't be answered without going into all of this). creationists believe the world was created by God. And, the way they found that out, was because it was in The Bible.

The bible has been proved correct time and time again, the time when Moses was commanded to build a ark, that has been proven true.

The kings mentioned in the Old Testament? All 100% accurate and true.

The fact that they crucified people back then? True, true, and true again.

Do you see my point? The bible has been put to just about every historical, bibliographical and geographical test in the books, and proven correct. And, if you want to call this part of it wrong, when even the air in the rocks proves that creationists are right, then be my guest.

Now, to acually answer your question: Creationistic scientists looked in the bible, found the book of Geneses and read it, then, they wanted to prove that was right. So, they looked around them for proof that the bible was correct, and low and behold, there it was, everywhere around them. The birds... Really every single animal, think about it this way "oops, I forgot to evolve a stomach, my bad, I'll just have to evolve it now......." We both know a dead animal can't evolve. The rocks, if evolution is true, there should be little if any air still in rocks today, but, sure enough. There is enough air to suggest that the earth is only a few thousand years old. Stars, some red dwarf stars a caculated by "scientists" to be older than the universe itself... How do you explain that? Simple, God created the heavens beforehe created the earth, and even after he created earth, God still needed to plant life on it.
