What are other names for the Church of England?

A church established under the reign of Elizabeth I. Claims that it is just another "branch" of the true Catholic church are unfounded. It was established using protestant texts from Edward VI reign whilst "ordaining" a William Parker (a layman) as the new Archbishop of Canterbury. The 2 remaining Catholic bishops in England wouldn't have a bar of it, so they cobbled together 4 worthies of dubious religious qualifications. Two were said to be ex catholic priests who jumped ship for the "new" religion although no records exist of they ever being ordained. The other two were protestant auxiliary bishops from the new religion. This Anglican/Church of England was established as a state church under the Monarchy who was to be the head, whilst Jesus got the job as spiritual director. All so called ordinations to this day stem from this William Parker. Pope Leo xiii in 1896 after a long and independent investigation by 6 interested parties who were give full access to Vatican records declared anglican orders to be "utterly null and void"

Info about Anglican chruch?

The Anglican Catholic Answer! The Anglican Church was the original Catholic Church in Britain. When it arrived, no one really knows, but Archbishop Dorotheus of Tyre, who was martyred approx 303AD, thought it had been brought by the Brother of Christ, S.Simon Zelote! This Apostle was martyred in these Isles! The First Bishop of the Church in Britain was reported to be Aristobulos a friend of S.Paul. The old catholic verities of Revelation, Scripture and Councils were developed , holding to the three creeds and seven Sacraments. It first got the name Anglican about the 750s AD, in a History of the Church by the Venerable Bede at that time.It was again reported still in in use in 1215 in the Great Charter of that year!It continued in use all through the middle ages in correspondence abroad. But at home it was simply the Catholic Church, known simply as ,'The Church'!In 1546' during the Reformation the Holy Roman Church held a,"Council,' at which they told the supporters of the Pope to leave the Churches and set up Roman ones! This caused a problem for names! The Anglican Church was 1500yrs old and was totally catholic and traditional, whilst the new Trent one claimed the name. It was then that the old church retained the ancient name and the new one accepted the title of Roman Catholic!

Was Queen Elizabeth a Catcholic or Protestant Queen?

protestant The Church of England still considers itself a "catholic" church, just not a "Roman Catholic" church. For instance, all Bibles used in all Anglican services -- included the one commanded by King James I -- include the Apocrypha, which Protestants consider (well) apocryphal. So take your pick.
