The empire expanded because the empire ruled and battled to gain more land and land. Like a stake. Everytime a new emperor was chosen, they had to get more land then they currently had than before. Hope this helped you.

The Aztec's lived on their capital city Tenochtitlan Tenochtitlan they sacrificed blood for the gods and were home to the swampy islands they used floating gardens to make agricultural things. Their army was made up of up to over 2 million people until Hernan Cortes came along and killed them with his weapons and armor. the native Americans helped him hoping he would free them from slavery but little did they know that the Spaniards were gonna become their new masters
