Led by activists such as Nelson Mandela, the movement utilized various methods including protests, strikes, and international pressure to challenge apartheid and bring about its eventual demise.
One person who helped black voters in Mississippi during the Civil Rights Movement was Fannie Lou Hamer. I am not familiar with this movie but, i am guessing it is about the civil rights movement in the USA when African Americans and white supporters would ride on busses to racist (usually southern) states to prove a point and gain publicity. It is not. It stands for National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Its one of the oldest Civil Rights organizations of the U.S. Its mission is to "to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination". So no it is not racist and anyone who thinks the NAACP is, is simple minded and should look back on our nations history.

Eugene 'Bull' Connor was a racist Alabama commissioner who beat, sicced dogs on, and turned fire hoses on peaceful demonstrators during the American Civil Rights Movement. Bull was such a nightmare that President Kennedy quipped, 'Thank God for Bull Connor. He's helped the Civil Rights Movement as much as Abraham Lincoln.' This was because after seeing the horrific things Bull did to peaceful demonstrators, more people from all over the world began to support the Civil Rights Movement.
