The Greeks traded pretty much like we do today... by shipping.. the Mediterranean Sea gave the Greeks access to the Egyptians, Mesopotamia (the Fertile Crescent regions) and even the people inhabiting modern Russia... or the Black Sea region.

The Greeks traded in Olive Oil... which was used mainly for lighting homes and used for flavoring food.
