A world war of its own.
The US provided millions of dollars in weapons, armament as well as money itself to the Allied forces. Victim, combatatant and victor, it was also called the "Arsenal of Democracy" and the "Breadbasket of the World."

neutral
Fortunately Korea was located on a Peninsula, and with the United States having the most powerful Navy in the World at that time; it was easy for the US to "isolate" the war to Korea itself, and control the enemy infiltration from North Korea into South Korea. The Vietnam War demonstrated what can happen when enemy supply lines CANNOT be cut or controlled (Ho Chi Minh Trail).
help me with my questions?

Of course. The US was at war with itself and had an election (Abraham Lincoln won).
In the World War 2 period there was no one power that could be called "the World Superpower" so the US did not defeat it. At present some call the US "the World Superpower." Whether that is a valid description or not is a matter of opinion, but even if true it is still not possible for the US to defeat itself so the US has never defeated "the World Superpower."
