Yes. It historians agree that it originated in Central Asia. The first evidence f a transverse Flute was found in artwork dated 200 B.C. Eventually it came to Germany, used in military music. Flutes had no keys, only tone holes, until the late 1600's, when the Baroque flute was invented. It was made of wood, and had seven tone holes and one key for the pinky finger. It was built in three sections for various reasons. With these adjustments, flutes became very popular. In 1847, Theo Boehm redesigned the flute. Each key was placed so that each note would have the same tone quality, and a key system was added. It made the flute louder and easier to play. Today, flutes are used in bands, and other groups of music players. It is usually made of silver or silver alloy, but can be made of gold or even platinum. Other types of flutes include the piccolo and alto flute.

it changed because the flute was very hard to play when it was a long time ago so people changed it to make it easier to play and they also found out that when they changed it, it made the sound coming from the flute better...

It is generally agreed that Johann Christoph Denner (1655-1707) invented the clarinet sometime soon after 1698 by modifying the chalumeau. The earliest known clarinets that have survived are by his son, Jacob Denner (1681-1735). J. C. Denner devised the speaker key which when depressed allowed the sounding of pitches that are a 12th above the corresponding chalumeau register note.

How do you repair a clarinet?

If you have never repaired a clarinet before, I would take it to a reputable instrument repair shop to get your clarinet looked over. Please do not try to do it yourself if this is your first time. The clarinet is a very delicate instrument that can get misaligned easily if it is handled wrong.
