No sane Brit will ever admit this because they want you to belive it was all British.However,the history books beg to differ. Sure,the French helped us.The Brits weren't fighting fair.It wasn't all Red Coats that invaded the USA.
However,the war of 1812 was the USA vs UK.Hence,the Brits still used the Indians to their advantage.The war was an American victory because the UK finally accepted the USA as a bona fide country.The Brits also let the USA trade around the World and didn't enlist the US Military in the British ranks,against the will of the USA.
There are many reasons as to why the Americans defeated the British in the American Revolutionary War. The Americans wore neutral colors and practiced a guerilla-type warfare, in which they hid amongst the foliage of forests. On the other hand, the British wore brightly colored uniforms and marched in highly conspicuous rows. Additionally, the Americans had a passion to fight; their freedom. The British had no such passion, and therefore lacked the extra drive that the Americans possessed. Finally, the Americans had the aid of the French due to the fact the the British and the French were bitter rivals.

Before the Civil War, America has already been running it's own government for up to 100 Years. This connection between states provided more efficient communication and agreement to stage a sucessful Revolution. Second, the US was on familiar ground, fighting in America, they knew the land and had something to fight for, a major advantage. Finally, The US gained support from France. At First France was reluctant to fight against a World Power, but after some key victories, France finally supported the US Revolution, and we won the war.
The reason the French Revolution didn't suceed was because they had no experience with gov't, it was just a group of inexperienced rebels, so they quickly collapsed.
