A nice question! I am happy you asked about 'dictatorships' and not just asked about one, Germany. Yes there were many dictators around at that time. Japan, Italy, Russia and Germany. The reasons are many, for example; WW1 classed as the War to End all Wars, gave nothing to the ordinary people. The Soldiers returning, had no jobs! Heroes, yes, but who cared? The public noticed that the only people who made money out of the war, were the owners of big business' who sold Arms to both sides. Then there was the massive inflation of the 1920/1930s,people lost their jobs, their homes, and some their lives. It only needed clever men, good speakers, who told the people what they thought anyway, but could not say themselves. They promised, Jobs, Food, Holidays paid by the State, good living standards for all. All they had to do, was get rid of these rich owners of the big factories, who bled the people dry. So people believed them, and followed them. Only later, did they find out that these clever speakers only wanted POWER, and were not interested in the 'people'. But by then it was too late! Nothing has changed! There are still 'clever' people about, in a great many Countries, who promise everything to the people, but in truth only want POWER! This was a good question, for by asking it, it may make people 'THINK' and in doing so, the people may be able to see 'through' the words, and by thinking, may stop another dictator from getting what he wants...Power!
The economic conditons made everyone want a leader.
They didn't, they had risen to power in the thirties.
It must be remembered that back then the government and all the parties weren't even close as how organised they are today... It was easy for everyone to come to power really.
Germany caused the rising of Dictatorship and formed it's allies known as the Axis Power because Germany lost in World War 1 and 1-8 of her territory was taken.

The issue that had the biggest contribution to the rise of dictators during the 1930's was that much of the world was experiencing economic depression. Dictators rose to power promising that they would fix the economic problems in their countries.
power
Within Europe powerful dictators rose in Germany, Italy, and Spain, and within Asia, a powerful dictator rose to power in Japan.
The main reason for the rise of dictators in Europe and Asia during the 1930s was the fact that the dictators who were in charge at the time promised the people that the country would experience economic recovery. This was a period of time when the people were very poor and looking for a way out of poverty.
They don't have limits, and that is why they are dictators. Dictators have complete control over their country.
Not necessarily. Roman "dictators" were elected into office by the Senate, whereas Socialist dictators of the 20th Century Europe usually led revolutions against a sitting monarch.
