I need to know how the pulley got its name,any of u got any sugestions.
A forklift generally gets it mechanical advantage from hydraulic rams, not pulley systems...
There is a crankshaft pulley, alternator pulley, power steering pump pulley, AC pulley, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, etc.
Belt tensioner? Idler pulley?
The bearing gets old and starts to heat up. The pulley fatigues... It's all just part of stuff wearing out.

If it does not drive anything it could be an idler pulley.
