a block and takle
There is a crankshaft pulley, alternator pulley, power steering pump pulley, AC pulley, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, etc.
Remove your idler pulley first. it is the pulley right next to the alternator.
I need to know how the pulley got its name, any of u got any sugestions.
Belt tensioner? Idler pulley?
A single pulley has no mechanical advantage, it just changes direction.
A pulley system that has multiple pulleys in line with each one having its output drive the next will increase the force. This would be called a tackle pulley.
If it does not drive anything it could be an idler pulley.
You have to remove the engine mount next to it, then remove the 4 bolts in the pulley
Right next to and somewhat behind the crankshaft pulley
It is the smooth pulley next to the belt tensioner.
This mainly occurs in a multiple pulley system, but there is no particular name for it.
Most likely called the harmonic balancer pulley.
