D-Day was June 6, 1944. Adolf Hitler committed suicide on April 30, 1945, more than 10 months after D-Day.
As the Soviet Union (Russia) is east of Germany, they would have had to attack from east to west, through Poland especially. But in the invasion of Germany, the Red Army was simultaneously attacking from the northeast, east, and southeast, and finally completely encircling Berlin between April 20 and May 2, 1945.
Norway was controlled by Germany in 1944 and in 1945 up to May 8th.
