Well after Caesar rejected Cleopatra's son as his own; he went on to do great things in Rome. He gave the landless land, he gave the Italians government rights, he expanded Rome, and he even reformed the Calender (which is the same calendar we use today) However, there was one problem------ the Senate. The senate wanted the Republic to be the way it used to be, and Caesar was slowly becoming the dictator for life. So one day Caesar went to the senate to approve this new law, but when he got there--- the senate(s) grabbed their knives and stabbed him multiple times. To top it all off, Ceaser's best friend (Brutus) stabbed him last in the gut and ended Ceasar's life. With a loud cry and a tear on his cheek, Caesar said: "Not you too, Brutus!" Caesar then died. :'(
Anyway, after this Caesar's adopted son, Octavian teamed up with Caesar's right-hand man Marc Antony and Marcus Lepidus. Together they took down Brutus in a civil war. Thus this started the 2nd Triumvirate. Octavian got the vast north, Antony got the vast east, and Lepidus got Africa. This was the 2nd Triumvirate. I hope this helped a lot of people out there.
