The Chesapeake colonies didn't have anything like this because they weren't religious communities; rather, they were just normal people with a local church to attend service. The Puritans all lived for their religion together. Their strong beliefs and strict rules made it, in a sense, ideal for hysteria. The Chesapeake colonies didn't have such strong religious order.
