Iceland is part of the mid Atlantic Ridge. The Mid Atlantic ridge is a mountain range along the floor of the Atlantic Ocean. Iceland is part of this mountain range that protrudes above the ocean. This mountain range is the longest mountain range in the world.
So in fact the ice formed on the volcano not the volcano on the ice.
well i know how a normal volcanoe is formed... Its when two continental plates the oceanic plate and the continental plate are at a destructive plate boundry where the plates are pushed together by covention currents in the earths mantle. Then when both plates get pushed together so much that there is tension, then one plate usually the oceanic crust which is the densest subducts(sinks or slides under the continental crust). this causes a volcano to form but if its at a constructive plate boundary it would cause a SHEILD VOLCANOE to form
