Yes. But sewing was exclusively the job for women, unless it was 'heavy sewing' like net-making, or tent-making (as Paul did for a trade).

In fact, garment sewing was sophisticated, even though it was done by hand, using needles much like we have today but larger, and cloth and tread usually made from flax or wool.

Also, according to Jewish law, fabrics were to be woven of a single fiber, not with combinations of fibers. Notable contemporary fibers were flax (linen), cotton, wool, silk (from China), hemp, jute (from India), kenaf, mohair, and camel hair. Fabrics of high thread counts were available at a price, but the common man wore cruder, often homespun fabrics.
