Your intake manifold gasket needs to be replaced.

The 1997 Nissan Altima 2.4L is equipped with the RE4F04A 4-speed automatic transmission. This transmission fluid pan and gasket assembly has 21-bolt holes.
The only way to get to the intake manifold gasket is to take the head off. I'm working on it right now and so far that is all i can say

replace the hose or gasket the is leaking, you can spray carb cleaner around the eng whil runnig to locate the leak the eng will try to stall
When just doing a filter and gasket change, the quantity needed is about 5 quarts. It is important not to use any fluid other than the OEM ATF when just doing a filter change.
It probably needs a new valve cover gasket.
