Well the main thing people think about emo is they will harm themselves by cutting or slitting their wrists. However, emo mostly means you have problems in life that have caused you to be depressed or think a certain way, so some harm themselves, and in some cases they use it to learn things and make things, like some writing songs that you SHOULDNT cut and hurt yourself like some emo people do.

I don't know what they do, honestly, but I think its along the lines of showing people your emotions without telling them, like how you dress. I think they're just misunderstood.
