Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes or use an error code reader to erase the computer to the default configuration.
Try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes
disconnect the battery for 10 mins
With a scan too or with a battery disconnect.
I just unscrew and take both battery cables off the battery for about 15 minutes and put back on. This should reset the engine light. The check engine light should go out. If it doesn't, you have trouble
After reading the codes, with a scanner. You repair cause of code, and then can reset code with the scanner.
I have checked the gas cap and pressed the reset button
no a burnt out headlight will not cause a check engine light but if you go to most of the part places they will check the check engine light for free
An independent shop will do it for you, but if you fixed something, it may reset itself in a couple days.
Could be you need diagnostics reset or catalytic converter on the way out
in the fuse panel there's a reset button...with the key on hold the reset button till the check engine lite blicks then again to confirm you want to turn it off...hope that helps...cheers...you could always put a piece of black tape over it...
