The majority of time if you adjust the rear brakes it will adjust the park brake.
2005 park brake is a set of brake shoes inside a drum that is part of the brake rotar to adjust u need to raise wheels off the ground then get under neath the vehicle and find the small runner plug on backside of brake you will then need a small flat screw driver or brake adjustment tool to adjust the park brake you adjust the park brake exactly the same as you would adjust any other drum brake
you must first adjust the rear drum brakes. then and only then can you adjust the cable for the parking brake at the base of the park brake pedal/handle. if you don't do the rear drums first, you will stretch the cable
You first need to make sure that you have to foot on the brake. Many cars will not go out of park if your foot is not on the brake.
its a self adjusting brake. put parking brake where you want it and put in reverse back up to adjust.
depress foot brake as hard as you can, then pull it out of park. happened to me
On most cars, you have to have your foot on the brake to be able to shift out of park while the car is running. Look to see if there is a switch connected to the brake pedal/brake pedal assembly somewhere that may have become dislodged and is not making contact. Some cars have a finger-operated switch that allows the driver to bypass the brake pedal switch and allow the car to be taken out of park without the brake pedal being engaged.
