- Hi all it was a minor problem a metal tab that was bent probably caused by the frost built-up in they parking area of the wipers did not cost me a dime found the problem by accident
there are bolts on the top and bottom arms that hold the door to the van on the door side of these arms that can be loosened to adjust the door then tightened back but for me the top bracket is bent i will have to replace the arm
someone put the wiper arms on the wrong notch on the wiper posts. take one off and adjust it
The 2002 Pontiac Montana has hook-end wiper arms on both front and rear. Also, if you purchase the replacement blades first and there will be additional instructions/illustrations on the replacement packages. Locate and press the tab or button where the wiper blade is inserted into the hook of the wiper arm and pull wiper blade out of hook. You may have to rotate and flex the blade to make enough clearance for the hook to pass through. Very simple.
Wiper arms on a 96 Buick Skylark can be adjusted. This can be done by flipping open the plastic snap cover at the bottom of the wiper arm. Loosen the ratchet and remove the nut. Then adjust the wiper arm. Put back the nut and tighten the ratchet.Ê

the wiper arms are on a splined shaft so you would have to remove the arm from the shaft and rotate and replace them farther to the left or right to get the position you want most arms are held with a clip device of some kind that is part of the arm its self
if your standing in front of the van they are located straight ahead right under the wiper arms
if the wiper arms are stuck in the up position, the crank arm is bad. this part attaches to the wiper motor and wiper transmission. the part can be purchased aftermarket at part stores. it is around $60. It should come with directions on how to install
Take off the bolts at the bottom of the wiper arms and you may have to wiggle the arms back and forth to work the wiper arms off.
