for completely wet boards build it tight, with no spaces between boads ... when it dries it will have gaps and they will fill in with the rain but the fence will not warp. You have to judge how wet the wood it ... measure the width of the boards you have and the width of a fully soaked board (place in bucket for 2 hours) and the width of a dry board ... then gap the fence accordingly.
There are a great many things you could build a fence out of. You could build a fence out of wood.
Youve invested in a wood fence. Keeping it looking warm and beautiful requires care and maintenance. The two biggest threats to your fence are wet and dry rot. Wet rot is caused when moisture meets the wood, for example where the post is inserted into the ground. Dry rot happens when wood loses its natural, protective oils causing the wood to dry out and crack. Staining a fence will protect it against both types of rot. Use a quality, linseed oil based stain. Staining once year ensures this protective coat remains tough enough to protect your fence from the elements.
Chain link, vinyl fencing, wrought-iron and lattice are just some of the alternatives to wood fencing. Or, instead of pre-fab fence panels you can purchase cedar fence planks individually and assemble your own fence. If you are so inclined, you can buy the wood and posts and build your own wood fence panels to a particular style or design. You can also use chain link fencing, depending on zoning restrictions and your purposes.

You will need to find a dry location such as a cave or build a shelter. You can't start a fire with wet wood so you will need to find dry kindling such as wood under leaves or thick trees that haven't gotten to wet.
Typically you are not to build a fence anywhere past your property line.
