Bottom line. Ya can't... After my main Nissan Dealer closed I was lost as to what to do. My brake light has been out twice in 2 years and no one will tell me how to replace it. Don't call service, they will just tell you to bring it in and they can't tell you how to do it yourself. Come on? Really? Its just a little bulb... why go out of my way when I can just do it myself? And don't bother with the owners manual... they must have been written by the service advisors. It won't tell you either!
You can!, open the trunk, there are 2 black clips (right behind the rear light assembly) that you pull the center pin out a little then remove clip, then push back the carpeting(liner) and then there are 2 bolts right behind the brake light bezels, remove them then pry off the whole rear light bezel(assembly) by hand, if you have to use a screw driver very carefully to pry one side with screw driver and the other your hand, then remove the brake light bulb socket with a slight twist, change bulb and reverse the instructions. the lining in the trunk is a little tricky but you can pry it back enough and when closing up carefully reinsert the lining(carpeting). that's it,
If you want to change the high stop lamp inside rear, then push on the back of the lamp it will go forward(towards the rear of the car), then lift up a bit and under the housing theres a black twist off for the bulb, twist it off and change build, reverse instructions putting back
check your bulbs
