Open the trunk, look up in the compartment, there should be 2 plugs with wires coming out of them, they twist towards the aft end of the vehicle. Twist them towards you and gently pull them out. The bulbs will be here, then change with an equivalent bulb.
The way that you change a high mount brake light on a 2007 Taurus is by first prying the light assembly from the housing. You then push rearward to remove it from the retaining clips. Next, life the light assembly from the shelf and disconnect the assembly wiring. Replace the light assembly and reverse directions to put the light housing back where it goes.
If you mean the red " BRAKE " light in your dash is on , that means that the brake fluid level in the brake master cylinder located in your engine compartment ( on a Ford Taurus ) is LOW ( or that the parking brake is on )
On a 1999 Ford Taurus : The oil pressure warning light is just to the right of the tachometer * just above the parking brake / emergency brake , brake fluid level warning light
