The first thing, check your thermostat. Start the car when it's cold, like in the morning. Allow it to warm up, being careful not to touch the exhaust manifold, feel if or when the water hose coming out from the top of the rad. See if it gets warm/hot to the touch.=If it gets hot after the bottom rad hose does (5mins). Then your thermostat is working and your problem is something much more difficult. Switches, heater core etc;=
Could be a bad thermostat or heater core
may be your heater control valve
Probably a worn-out or clogged heater core.
Answer Trim moulding is easily removed with a heat gun. A good hair dryer might work, but a heat gun is much hotter and gets the job done faster.
Can you tell me about the solutions you've taken to resolve those other problems? The reason I ask is that certain models are completely electronically controlled (you know-all digital) I cant tell by your question weather it's still dash problems or just a bad thermostat.
My cooling fans not working on my 2001 Santa fe . By pass fans they work, put on new heat relay still not working
The most common thing is the heater / climate control valve located in the dash area for controlling the heat output. Should be able to tell if using the dual mode changes the heat output.
My 2001 VW Passat is has the same problem!!
System airbound? Coolant level? Temperature control cable?
They are slightly above the exhaust manifold with metal heat shields around them, but if you didn't already know that you shouldn't even have your hood open! So go to a mechanic!
Make sure you have engine coolant. If the engine isn't getting enough coolant, it will overheat, stall and possibly destroy the engine. One symptom is that no coolant is circulated into the heater. Also check the crank sensor, but check coolant first...then the crank sensor.
Did you check your thermostat. another reason could be your heater core is plugged.
