Most sunroofs will move manually.
you need to remove a cover to get to where the motor is and usually there is a hole to put a screwdriver or Allen key into to turn the motor manually.
If not just remove the motor and push the glass shut but doing this will mean you need to reset the motor before refitting it.
I worked in a sunroof factory for 10 years !!
Well, switches don't often die without some signs of failure first. It could happen, though.
I'd first try to check the sunroof for any broken parts or any binding, then I'd check the fuse. If the sunroof was indeed binding, it could cause a drag on the motor and blow the fuse.
how does the sunroof work on a 1984 posche There are several electrical relays for the sunroof. I'd recommend going to: http://www.clarks-garage.com/ look up sunroof.
To reset the sunroof you must push the sunroof switch up and hold it for a few seconds then turn it to fully opened, then to closed.
could be the fuse, but the sunroof relay is above the sunroof switch attached to the motor, the relay is a possible answer to the sunroof not working.
I recenlty got a recall on my ignition switch in my 2000 sunfire and I just took it to the dealer and they did it for free.
the switch.? shift in 1st gear and look in front of your hand on the shifter console. or the actual switch is behind the middle modesty cover on the inside sunroof
I presume you're asking about a daylight running light switch? As far as I know, there is no such switch in a Sunfire. They're on when the car is running and is gear. FriPilot
The sunroof motor is located directly behind the panel where the "open/close" switch is mounted.
You will have to remove the sunroof motor, and the sunroof glass. Then you can move the guide tracks seperately until they are in the closed position. Then you can put the glass and motor back in, remove the power source (fuse or disconnect wire harness) to prevent any accidental opening until you can get it fixed. Chances are that a guide track or cable is broken, this can be a costly fix. Do not take it to the dealership, they will only want to install a whole sunroof unit. Take it to a local shop that installs aftermarket sunroofs.
Fuses are located in two places. In the car on the drivers side, to the left near the hood opener & in the engine compartment to the right. Check your owners manual for which fuse box contains the fuse for the sunroof. The problem may be the sunroof switch. Replacing the sunroof switch is as easy as changing a flashlite battery.
The sunroof motor is in the headliner, above the motor switch You have to remove the sunvisors and pull down the headliner to see it
The motor is above the switch and interior light.
GM vehicles do not have a fuel shut off/inertia switch
