no taking your cat to the vet is unesscary unless your 80% sure there ill it will cost money usually so there isn't much point in wasting your time unless your sure.

If your cat is ill it usually willl go to a quiet place maybe rest on a bed or a chair it will have lost its appetite and wont be eating it wont want to leave the house usually. Try searching your cat for any bites or wounds etc most male cats fight and it may have been injured by another cat, if its female it could also be pregnant. A very easy way to tell if its ill is if your cat goes into your garden and starts eating plants/grass a tell tale sign of illness because this will stop nausea

Typically, the cat won't act her/his normal self. If a cat is feeling unwell, it is likely a cat's appetite will decrease, become lethargic, vomit, have diarrhoea or any other number of symptoms. For injuries a cat may limp or cry out, or may be bleeding.

Cats can mask pain and illness incredibly well, so if at any point your cat feels "off", it may be best to take it to the vet just in case.

A cat will stop eating if its temp goes above 105. If that happens he must go to the vet.

Every cat needs a good puke now and then, and many accompany it with vocal punctuation. However, it's the number of times it happens that matters. And what comes up with the puking. It it's hair balls, well sometimes they don't come up so easily; they work hard to get them up! And the last meal, or what's left of it, is apt to come up with the hairball. However, no hair ball, just the last meal? Some kitties eat too fast (in particular it they eat dry food), and too much. That's because their eyes are bigger than their tummies, and dry food swells with the digestive juices they produce, ergo, tummy can't hold anymore and up it comes!

The solution, don't give kitty so much food at once; try more feedings, less food at them. YOU SHOULD NOT LEAVE LARGE AMOUNTS OF DRY FOOD OUT FOR HIM TO GORGE HIMSELF ON ALL DAY, UNLESS HE IS PARTICULARLY GOOD AT NOT EATING THE WHOLE THING AT ONCE!
