How do I remove the gas tank vent valve from a 1980 Ford F100 gas tank?

The vent is held in by a rubber grommet. Lubricate the grommet and valve with some spray silicone. Wiggle the valve around to disperse the lubricant then pull the valve straight out as you wiggle it.
