1. Using the ignition unlock the tool box.
2. Pull back the tool box and take it from the assist bar area.
3. Remove the nuts securing the rear seat .
4. Pull up on the rear of the seat and unhook it from the retainer on the front seat.
5. Remove the nuts securing the front seal from the rear fender.
6. Pull the rear seat toward the rear and remove it.
7. Install by reversing these removal steps.
On my Shadow it is behind the seat.

Remove the bolts holding the seat on each side and then slide the seat back.
Loosen and remove the two Allen bolts at the rear end of the seat. Then, pull the seat back and upward.
You need to first remove the plastic panel behind the seat above te rear tire. It is held on by a single screw. once this is removed 2 screws will be exposed that are holding the seat in place. Remove them and your all done.

I think it will . They changed the style in 88 so I think it will fit. Hope this helps.
