How do I repair a 1991 Ford Festiva that the speedometer reads about 15 miles an hour more than actual speed Is the problem the cable speedometer or transmission gearing?

if you have changed the tires to a different size than what was factory size this will throw the speedo out if your car is computerized this can be corrected at mechanic shop if tires are not the problem and no computer, i would say it is more likely to be the speedo head or the actual speedo cable

well that's not to hard to answer. my truck did the same thing i replace the speedometer cable and sensor in the transmission and i never had that problem since. try that first and see what happens if that wont work then replace the speedometer panel in the dashboard.
