get a manual
loosen the the slotted bracket that secures the component, such as alternator, or water pump. one hole on the bracket is for locking only other hole is slotted for adjustment. twist the bracket in direction to loosen the belt. now you can easily remove belt. put the new belt over the pulley's and tighten the bolts until snug. now twist bracket to tighten, a leverage bar will aid in this. when it is at correct tension, tighten both bolts securely. check belt tension by pushing down in center of belt across it's longest run between any two pulleys. average deflection down is approximately 1/4 inch for every 12 inches of belt run. so a 20 inch run should deflect no more than 1/2 inch. note: sometimes you have to take off other belts to get at the one you want because of the arrangement of them on the crank shaft pulley. because they wear about the same, you should replace the other belts also.
