2005 Toyota tacoma how to remove the brake rotor
There is no spring holding the rotor in place, it's most likely just rusted on. You can easily remove the rotor by way of a rotor puller. A rotor puller is just a series of clamps on chains that anchors to the hub with a bolt, and by tightening the chains, you will be able to remove the rotor. This is standard on any make or model vehicle, however some vehicle makes are known to have screws in place to anchor the rotor to the hub, such as Hondas. Check with your Toyota dealer or just do a visual inspection to ensure there is no such device in place before using a rotor puller.
Yes
You need to remove the wheel, the caliper and the caliper mount. After you do that you can remove the caliper.
Toyota rotor removalonce you remove hub assembly and bearings, inside the rotor the hub should be bolted to the rotor, six bolts. then separate hub/rotor.
Remove the tire and wheel. Remove the brake assembly. The old rotor will slide off. You might need to tap on the rotor with a hammer to get it to slide off. Reverse the process to install the new rotor.
There should be 2 screws on the front of the rotor, remove those and the rotor should come right off....you also have to take off the caliper bracket.
I believe the caliper is held by 14 mm bolts.
remove the 10mm bolt and remove it.disconnect plug at other end.
Your question is so non-specific (regarding year/model) that an accurate answer is next to impossible.Since you've posted in the Solara section and since you're talking about a rotor and not a drum I'll assume you're asking about a Gen II (2004 and later) Solara. In that case, removal is simple.1. Remove the road wheel2. Remove the caliper and tie it up someplace so it isn't hanging by the hose3. You should simply be able to pull on the rotor and it will slide off the studs.4. If that doesn't work there could be two reasons. A. It's rusted to the axle in which case you need to tap the rotor around the circumference with a rubber mallet until it breaks free. Or, B. You have the parking brake engaged. Disengage it so the brake shoes retract (the parking brake is in integral part of the rear brake and uses small shoes to grip the inside of the rotor) and you should be able to remove the rotor.Cheers
EAsy , remove distributor cap then loosen two screws holding rotor down and pull it off . reassembly is reverse of removal
First remove the tire and brakes, the hub just slides over the lug bolts that hold the rim on, so take it off and replace it. Always put new brake pads when replacing a rotor.
