we have had problems starting our car which turned out to be a transponder fault but it flashed up engine immobilizer on the dash. the part cost about £6 but it cost £90 to have the problem diagnosed on the computer at the citroen garage!

you have to ring up your local vauxhall dealer and see if they an get hold of one charge is about 25 pound and then u need a diagnostics kit to set the immobilizer to they the transponder in your key, if your having problems chack u have a transponder in your key or the pass codes will be useless.

If it's the factory fit one, using transponder chips in the ignition keys, then for all practical purposes, you can't.

The immobilizer key can only be programmed by an automotive locksmith that specializes in transponder or immobilizer keys. If no locksmith in your area can help you can take it to the dealer. There is no way to do it yourself.

the plastic cover on a key with an immobilizer is softer and larger than one without. if you have no key to compare, look on the dash with the key not in the ignition. if there is a red light in the shape of a car with a key shape on it that flashes every 2 seconds or so, it has a transponder. when you put the key in the ignition the light turns off.
