Dogs eat grass in order for them to throw up things that are making sick, such as what cats do with furballs. They do this naturally to get rid of whats making them feel sick, by eating grass.

I think that dogs and cats eat grass because their digestive system is upset. My little Chihuahua did so and sought grass with tough stalks, like couch grass. Not long afterwards she would be sick, and then be as right as rain. Some pet foods actually contain couch grass.
Cats (and dogs) will eat grass if they ate something that disagrees with them and they are trying to flush it out of their system. Plants = fiber!
Grapes (and raisins) are known to be toxic for cats (and dogs) and should not be given to them under any circumstances.
