The vehicle speed sensor is on the transmission. The ABS speed sensor is on the differential.
On a 2004 Ford F150, the vehicle speed sensor is located on the driveshaft of the transmission. Some models of 2004 Ford F150s use an ABS sensor instead of a vehicle speed sensor.
The 1999 F150 4.2 does not have a temperature sensor. It uses a cylinder head temperature sensor instead. It is mounted at the rear of the engine on the head.
ford speed sensor are usually in the differential housing.
on top af the rearend
Speed Sensor The sensor is located on the rear axle housing.
speed sensor is located on the fron upper part of the differential the speed sensor ring is inside the diff housing
ford speed sensor is located on front of differential. speed ring is inside diff housing
If it has 4 wheel antilock brakes, the rear speed sensor is in the rear end. There is a 10mm bolt that holds it in place. One the front there is a sensor for each wheel. It will be at the hub and have a wire going to it.

VSS WIRE Gray/black At Powertrain Control Module Pin 68
its located at the rear drive axle
The speed detection circuit lead is also known as the vehicle speed sensor. It is a gray and black wire found in the stereo wire harness of a 2007 Ford F150.
system to lean bank one 02 sensor ?
the tail shaft of the tranny on the speedo cable
Sounds like broken wires in the multi function switch ..
The sensor can be checked for resistance with an ohm meter. The sensor can be checked while cold then hot for resistance change.
How do you check cool temp sensor on a 5.8l f150?
if i remember correctly they did not start using an electronic speedometer in f150's till 1992 so your vehicle should still have a mechanical speedometer which has a cable ran down to your transmission. the sensor on the rear differential on those models is an abs sensor on 92 and later its the abs and speed sensor.
drivers side above the shifting rod.
OOPS! The cam sensor is on the front of the head, where it's safe and where you can change it easily !
They are located on the passenger side. Sensor1 is right past the exhaust manifold, and sensor 2 is after the cat.
where is the CHT sensor on a 2000 ford F150 where is the CHT sensor on a 2000 ford F150
check the maf sensor
As long as the numbers match on side of trans the only problems you will have is the vss was moved to the rear diff in 1998 so the 1997 would need an entire wire over but if the f150 is. 4x4 then the speed sensor is in the transfer case which means your fine
