think of your body as a cup. put hot liquids in, it gradually gets warmer. put ice in, it gradually get cooler. However, in order for a significant change to happen, the temperature has to be drastic.
Also, since your body continues to produce heat and to cool it's self, the change won't last long. They body tries to maintain it's normal healthy temperature.
