How far can lice jump?
It is a common misconception that lice jump. However, lice do not jump, they travel from head to head by sharing hats, pillows, brushes and other hair items.
Do they check for head lice in high school?
yes they do, at least they did in our school but just washing your hair well won't stop lice so don't borrow others hair bobbles, combs, hats ect.
How are head lice transmitted?
Sharing brushes/combs, wearing anothers hat, lying on an infected persons' pillow or just hanging out with somebody that does have head lice. It is head to head contact..... stay away from somebody scratching!

Can you get head lice when your ill?
Yes, head lice are living creatures which get into your hair through physical contact - they 'land' or 'crawl' onto your hair. That it how you get head lice. Therefore, you can still get head lice when you are ill because the illness makes no difference to your hair.
Do lice stay on hair bows?
yes i guess because the lice get on the hair bow and if some one else puts in on the lice spread. so if you have lice and you wear a hair bow, don't share it. it's the same with hats and hair bands.

This is what I can tell you from my expert experience. Your head may itch only after you have had head to head contact,or shared brushes, hats or combs with someone with head lice. This is how head lice is passed. They don't fly or jump but they do crawl Fast!! If your head itches and you have been in close contact with someone with lice you may need to call an expert. Do men get head lice?
As long as they have hair, men can get head lice. Head lice have the ability to appear on anyone who has hair, whether it be a child, man, or woman. If you do get lice, purchase "Lice Hero" to get rid of them. You will need to use the shampoo and then comb out the lice eggs to prevent more from hatching.
