Horses can do many things. They can be ridden (pretty obvious answer) in many different types of ways like western, English, dressage, saddle seat, and even bareback. They are used for "pony" riding ( when someone leads you around on a horse), They can pull carts (even miniature horses can), They can be used as a lawn mower (saves big $!), they can be used for ground working, plowing Fields (large weight), and they can be used for many other things!
The most used survival tool of the horse is to flee from anything it sees as a predator. Failing the ability to get away a horse will fight, typically using it's greater size and strength to over power a predator. Other survival tools include a knowledge of where food is almost always present even in harsh weather and where water can be found year round, along with where water can be dug for when above ground water holes have dried up. They also have the ability to sense a change in the weather and even the ground, this alerts them to bed weather and earthquakes, allowing them time to get to safety.
Well, for one thing, horses are very good company. If you need a shoulder to cry on, they will lend you theirs. They love you and will love you always if you treat them with respect and take great care of them. If you help them in their difficult time of need, then they will help you in yours. They understand what your going through. Horses are like people: they have the same problems, and they have the same solutions. Horses are your best friend, they are always there for you. Trust me.
if they are wild, they run around and buck and play.
in captivity, they can be ridden, lunged, turned out for a play pen, or let out in a pasture. if they are loose, they will run and buck and play.

Horse matting is a flooring used in stables to keep the horse's joints and provide them warmth. This will help the horse from eating its bedding as well as help save time and labor for their caretakers.

The horse as such isn't endangered at all, so no need to help it. There are however a few populations of various wild horse breeds that are at risk. To help those, try finding an organization working to buy territory for them
