yes, it has an oil filter.
To change the oil filter on a 2005 Mazda 3, first ensure the engine is cool and the vehicle is on a level surface. Remove the engine cover if necessary, then use an oil filter wrench to unscrew the old oil filter, allowing any oil to drain into a pan. Before installing the new filter, apply a bit of clean oil to the rubber gasket on the new filter, then screw it on by hand until snug. Finally, refill the engine with the appropriate oil and check for leaks.
To change the oil filter on your 2007 Mazda 3 Hatchback, start by ensuring the engine is cool and then lift the car using jack stands for safety. Place an oil drain pan beneath the oil filter, then unscrew the old oil filter using an oil filter wrench. Before installing the new filter, apply a bit of new oil to the rubber gasket on the new filter and screw it on hand-tight. I have found the best directions ever for changing oil in both Mazda 3 2.0 and 2.3 models. Follow directions on this site (http://mazda3revolution.com/how-to-guides/how-to-change-oil-mazda-3-23-20/).
every 3,000 mi. and filter running conventional oil; Every 5,000 miles and filter with full synthetic oil. the new trend is every 3000 miles or every 3 months. Personally, I am always poor, I do every 5000 miles or 4 months. my 2004 Mazda 3 still run it best.
A 2006 Mazda 3 with a 2.3L engine typically requires about 4.5 quarts of oil when equipped with a standard oil filter. If you are replacing the oil filter, it's advisable to have around 5 quarts on hand to ensure you have enough for a complete change. Always check the owner's manual for the most accurate specifications.
