that's a lot of questions. the DLCs (expansions) are buyable through a hard disk copy, or download on the xbox live arcade as Microsoft points. these dlcs can be played alone without gta4 itself. if you have gta4, you just play it like normal. insert the disk, or select it, and play it. with the dlcs, you choose to play through your games from xbox live arcade, and it will start up. or if you have the disks, insert them like normal. the DLCs are The Lost and Damned and the ballad of gay tony. THESE ARE STAND ALONE GAMES THOUGH ARE CONSIDERED EXPANSIONS. hope this helps.
