Not sure what you are asking, but I do know you should make sure the ones you get have the algecide to keep the shingles from staining and discoloring. It is well worth the extra dollar or two per bundle.

Stay Safe on the Roof?

When you find a leak in your roof, you will have to repair that section of your roof, and it may be time to completely reroof your house. You should roof your house with new shingles about once every 10 years. When roofing your house, or hiring a roofing specialist, it is imperative that you have some form of roof top fall protection. Many times this comes in the form of a safety railing that can be placed around the perimeter of the roof. Also wear a hard hat and even knee and elbow pads for extra safety and protection.

New Roofing Protects and Beautifies Your Home?

Choosing to install a new roofing system is one of the most important decisions that a homeowner can make. The importance of a roof seems underscored by society’s constant referral to the importance of “having a roof over your head.â€ The roof keeps a home safe and secure from the elements, and it beautifies as well as protects. Roofs shelter us from rain, wind, sun and pests, and keeping them in good condition is paramount in maintaining a home. For many people, the question becomes whether a roof experiencing problems should be repaired or replaced. This question obviously depends upon available resources and the condition of the existing roof. Repair is certainly a viable option in certain situations, specifically when the roof is in overall good shape but something has happened to a section of the roof. For example, if a tree branch has fallen on the roof and caused a hole, or if a strong wind storm blew off a few loose shingles, this can usually be repaired. However, if a roof has experienced no trauma or factory defect, and it is simply leaking or sagging, it is probably time for a new roof. The next question that many people ask is whether it is ok to install new roofing over the old shingles. This question has multiple answers. Theoretically, and according to building code in most areas, it is acceptable to simply add a layer of shingles when only a single layer currently exists. Sometimes, this can be a viable option, particularly if the new roof is being installed before any problems have a chance to occur, meaning before there are leaks or damage to the existing roof. If the roof is actually leaking or showing signs of wear then removing the old roof is best. This way, the roofing contractor can carefully inspect the roofing structure, and repair any damaged wood or problem spots. Furthermore, many roofing contractors believe that putting shingles over an existing layer of roofing actually compromises the shingles. In fact, most roofing suppliers provide a significantly shorter warranty period for re-shingled roofs, because of this fact.

Is it safe to step foot on a roof?

It depends on the pitch of the roof. If it is a flat or a low pitch roof it should be safe. I have stepped on flat roofs a lot, over 20 years, and I have felt completely safe.If the roofs pitch is steep, it isn't safe and you would need a rope to secure yourself to a chimney. Medium pitch roofs are okay to walk on if your are careful, but it may require a rope secured to a chimney to be safe. Also, the roofing material can be a factor in making it safe or not. Metal, shake, tile and shingles. Weather can also be a factor like snow, icy, rain and windy.if you tie yourself to the chimney with rope then , yes .
