A bed-liner protects your bed from getting stained and that worn look. A truck bed-liner does about the same, except it protects the metal from being scratched. However, bed bugs have been shown to be able to crawl out of the encased material, usually near the zipper area.
look behind the light inside the box... if you have a liner then you have to pull the liner back... there are two screws 10mm/philips... unscrew those and the light will pop out. This seems to be a common Q on these trucks! There are 2 bolts on the inside of the bed, (behind the light assembly), which means you may have to go under your bed liner if you have one. Sort of a pain! The entire assembly will pull out.
A drop in plastic liner will not solve the problem. The liner may actually make the problem worse by trapping water in the bed. To solve the problem inexpensively (as compared with buying a new bed) find a local shop which specializes in spray-in bed liners. Ask them if they can cut out the rust patches and weld in new metal to repair the holes. After the holes have been patched, the spray in liner will stop further issues.
