Have recently just had mine done on a 52 vectra at 65,000 but l think this was a little late vauxhall recommend 40,000 but you have to renew all tensioners and waterpump, comes as a kit, costs me £200 to have this done at my local garage.
There is a small horseshoe shaped clip that holds the window handle on the window regulator. It has to be removed. You can purchase a window handle clip removal tool, or you can make one yourself out of a coathanger. It would be easy to show you the shape if I could post a picture here, but no images are allowed on the site. It should look like an upside-down Capital "L" . The long part of the L should be about 5". At the end of the long part of the L, you should make a hook. The inside of the hook end should be about the same as the thickness of the coat hanger. Bigger than that and it won't fit between the window handle and door panel. Be careful when you pull it out, that clip has a tendency to pop off and disapear. To reinstall it, just center it on the window regulator and give it a sharp tap to set it in place. Good luck
Yes it does have a voltage regulator. It is incorporated into the alternator assembly.
The engine computer is also the voltage regulator.
The regulator is part of the fuel pump module in the tank.
Remove the interior door. Here is a web site with a good description on the steps you will need. http://autorepair.about.com/od/otherodddiyjobs/l/aa092504a.htm After the interior door is removed it is pretty straight forward, just remove the nuts that attach the regulator to the door frame and attach the new one. It is helpful to have a second person to hold the window up while you are working.
The current specifications of the Holden Vectra include a 1.7 L 4I engine, with a 4-speed automatic transmission on a GM2900 platform. The earlier versions were all 6-speed manual.
On the pump, in the tank.
Voltage regulator is located on the fire wall L/H side near you master cylinder
Your voltage regulator is attached to the back of the alternator in a 1996 Ford Ranger 2.3 liter
