they inherit it(orange fur) from their parent/s or their parents have carried the trait to them from the parents parents or so on...

As a result of the genetic traits that they inherit, they have different pigment in their fur. The pigment phaeomelanindoes not absorb all wavelengths of light equally, so it produces red (orange) and cream coloration. The pigment eumelaninabsorbs all colors more or less equally, so it produces black, brown, blue (gray), chocolate, lilac, cinnamon and fawn colors, depending on the concentration, shape and alignment of the pigment granules.

The same pigments are found in humans.

How does phenotype affect phenotype?

In codominance, in which an organism is heterozygous for a trait, both phenotypes are expressed equally because both alleles are dominant. An example is a tortoise shell cat. Tortoise shell cats have both black and orange fur because they have both a dominant black allele and a dominant orange allele for coat color. The black fur is expressed by the allele for black fur and the orange fur is expressed by the allele for orange fur.

What breed is a orange spots and white cat?

I don't believe it is possible for a cat's coat to have orange spots. Cats that have a Red Tabby (often called orange) coat can indeed have white patches on them, but more often than not these patches are random patterns and do not resemble actual spots.
