Depends on where he comes from. If from the rain forest like the RedFoot, then yes. But most tortoises will get the water they need from the greens they eat. However, if you are keeping it as a pet it is smart to soak your tortoise in a shallow bowl (water should come to the turtles chin) every month or so. This way you are sure they are getting all the water they need.
I once saw a house lizard come near the wash basin and drink a few drops of water dripping from the point where the tap was connected...
This removed my doubt that House Lizard never drink water .. which is not true.
i think they drink water in the water or they absorb water in here skin. they also get it from some of the foods they eat.
The above is incorrect I believe. I think they get it the same way Sea Snakes do. They get it by drinking fresh rain water at the surface of the ocean before it mixes with the salt water. I am 100% sure that is what Sea Snakes do but not 100% on Sea Turtles.
I think the first one is most correct because sea turtles drink the salt water and the salt is removed by glands behind their eyes, which come out as very salty tears.
yes, most all living organisms need water
no they don't
Green sea turtles live in salty water.
Yes but sea turtles don't come out of the water like most turtles
In the Sea
in the water
Light, like that of a full moon so the sea turtles can find the ocean.
there is no such thing as a water turtle there called sea turtles there green or brown usaly
They (as well as tortoises, their close relatives in the reptile world) have protective shells. Turtle also live in the water, sometimes even the sea.
A clue is in their name - sea turtle - sea is salt water.
Yes, they are actually born out of the water.
they die
under water
I wouldn't think that there would be any sea turtles in a zoo because sea turtles live in the sea not in a freshwater habitat. But you never know there might be. They would just have to live in salt water.
