First, you must have a natural "ear for sound". This means that you have the ability to hit notes dead on without thinking about it. It can't be taught. Then, you need professional training. Lastly, you must practice, practice, practice.
all you got to do is practice and believeyourself!
if not just go on youtube and look up HOW TO SING!
someone will help :)
Start by singing in the shower, or alone in your car. This will help you become comfortable with your own voice, and thus be able to project it better. Then, practice, take lessons, sing all the time. After a couple months, you'll either have it, or you wont. Some people just can't sing.
Plain and simple - Learn Music Theory.
You have to know what notes you can sing in the key in order to sing them correctly.
There are plenty of theory books and websites out there that can teach you what you need to know; just research it.
If what you're trying to ask is how to sing a correct pitch, which is more likely if you're talking about singing along to a pre-written/pre-recorded song and just want to be able to sing it correctly, then I recommend going to a voice instructor or looking up vocal lessons online in order to do so.
Singing is the exact same thing as playing an instrument, you're just using your vocal chords instead of a guitar/Trumpet/etc. Music consists of pitches. When you sing, you're just hitting pitches in rhythms. That's all music is - pitch & rhythm.
If you're having trouble hitting those pitches with your voice, I recommend finding a piano or keyboard, hitting any key on the piano that you choose, and try to sing that note. The more you get used to singing pitches, the easier your brain will know exactly what you have to do in order to sing it when you hear a song.
Personally, I just kept singing along to songs until I just got good at it. For some people, it doesn't come so naturally to them, and you might need to get voice lessons so you have someone to tell you if you are actually hitting the correct pitches or not.
Hopefully this helps! Good luck
