Drain the cooling system, disconnect hoses at heater core,on passengers side of firewall. from inside of car remove sound insulator panel below glovebox, remove center console( if equipped) and the glove box. disconnect the drain tube from heater core cover. remove the floor duct from below the heater case. on Malibu and cutlass models have ac discharged, then remove the air conditioning lines from evaporator core at the firewall. the rest of the procedure is to remove the instrument panel from from passenger compartment. there are more procedures to follow,so go to any auto parts place and buy a haynes manual for your model . the manuals are based on a complete teardown of car!! for about 20.00 dollars. on these models ac and heating unit is all in one..
