The two small wires only fit one way, notice the flat spot on the coil studs, the wire ring terminals have matching flat spots.
under the coil pack in the engine compartment. The coil pack is where the plug wires hook into it.
the wires can only hook up to one place there are two wires but they both go on top of coil but they have different plugs so therefore can only go to one place
where are the coil wires located, and where do they hook up
Its the 1st igntion coil. V8 have distrubutors which is kinda the same your spark plug wires hook up to them.
You should hook up the wires for a tach on a 1985 Chevrolet s10 blazer to the negative side of the coil. You should be sure to identify the positive and negative sides of the coil.Ê
Basicaly you hook up the wires as such. The two middle cylinders will share a coil and the two outside cylinders will share the other coil. It really doesen't matter what teminal the wires attach as long as they are hooked up like this.
Hook it to the negative side of the coil.
You would hook to the negative side of the coil. Some HEI distributor caps are marked "tach".
Need to check coil wire, coil, The most common thing that does this is the ingnetion Module in the distributor. It bolts inside the Dist. and that is what the electric wires on the side of Dist. hook to. I think the module will fix your problem.
The negative side of the coil is connected to the breaker points and condenser. The posotive side comes from the ignition switch. And the center terminal is connected to the center terminal of the distributor cap. ID REPLACE IT WITH A HEI MUCH BETTER THEN A POINTS SYSTEM.AND IT ONLY HAS ONE POWER WIRE TO HOOK UP.
The ignition coil is located under the distributor cap. There are a couple screws holing it in and a couple of wires. Just make sure the battery is diconnected first. Make sure you hook it back up the same way.
im having the same problem but i know it goes to the white or orange wires going to your coil packs.
