How do you remove rear leaf spring bushings on 67 camaro?

If you have access to a press, pressing them out would be the best way. You will need the spring removed from the car. Another way (but messy) is to burn the rubber out of the bushing then remove the steel collar with a hammer and chisel. But installing them would be best done with a press.

Burning the rubber out is the easiest way to remove the bushings if you do not have air tools. Depending on where you live this is a very hostile environment and the leafs have been down there for a long time. People in dry states usually have a better time at this but for those in the midwest and other rust belt states you could be asking for trouble. The perch that the leafs sits in (front) is usually very rusty and held together just for the fact the leafs are still there. So be prepared for this malady when you get ready to change them. when the leafs are down the new ones can be located by the pin location on the new set of leafs. just set them in the pin hole and bolt them up. Do the front first and then go to the rear keeping in mind that a jack my be needed to raise the rear of the leaf to the shackle. Good luck!

Smog test classic cars?

Depends on where you live. On the west coast, things seem to be trending towards loostening up on them. California, and Washington went to a rolling 25 year window. In other words, current, to 25 years old, test. Older than that, no test. Nevada, makes us test everything older than two years, but, offers a loophole by allowing a restricted plate. "classic car" is the plate, and you smog it the first time, to a much looser set of standards, then is limited on the amount of miles you drive per year. But, prior to that we used another loophole called a waiver, which gave a couple of hoops to jump through, but, a gear head would not have a problem. In other words, depending on your state, there is probably a "hidden" loophole that you may have to dig a little bit to find, but, a motivated individual should find success. Remember, there are exceptions due to individual needs, and, a state would be harsh to cause a person financial devastation by not allowing a loophole for DMV to use. Most DMV sites have an emisions lab connected to them. These people are not paper pushers, but kind of mechanics. A non smog issue usually goes to them, so, they know which forms to fill out, and which hoops to jump through. Remember. They do not wnt anyone to circumvent the system, but, want to help working people to be able to get to work. So, going up to this guy and spouting off about your big block camaro, with a roller cam in it, probably would not be the approach, I would use. I find with DMV stupid, broke, and in need of a solution to license some old camaro that you spend your only $1500 on to get to work at the job you are about to lose if you can't get there.............Chuck.

How do you remove the key cylinder from the ignition switch on a 1965 Chevy?

Notice a very small hole in the chrome face of the key cylinder, insert the key and turn to the ignition on position, insert a paper clip or similar object into the small hole and gently push in as you turn the key to the start position. This will release the cylinder and allow you to pull it straight out. Disconnect the negative battery post before you try this.

The above answer is wrong!

Put ignition key into cylinder, turn the cylinder as far counter clock wise as possible.

Install a straightened paper clip into the small hole on the chrome face of the key cylinder. Push the paper clip into the cylinder. (You will feel as "SPRING LOAD")

Keep pressure against the spring load & turn cylinder slightly some more counter clock wise. While holding counter clock wise pressure remove the paper clip & turn cylinder counter clock wise until it will go no furthur. At this point pull the ignition cylinder out. BINGO!
